We are a small private breeder focusing our breeding program on temperament, health, and proper conformation. All of our pups are handled frequently from birth to ensure that they are the friendly outgoing skinny pigs that they should be. They are given the highest quality food and care making them a wonderfully interactive and healthy pet. Large cages with plenty of pellets, hay, fresh vegetables, toys and a warm sleeping sacks keep our skinny pigs relaxed and happy. All of our pigs get time out of their enclosures for exploration and cuddles. We have imported animals from many different breeders; working closely with them we can be sure of the health and qualities of our lines.
Skinny pigs are not for everyone which is why we here at Skinny pigs of New England, we encourage people to come to an open house and learn more about these wonderful animals before making their purchase.

Skinny pigs are hairless guinea pigs and have similar care requirements as a regular guinea pig. They require proper care and diet to reach their full potential. Being hairless means they have some special needs. Skinny pigs need to be kept warm; a polar fleece sleep sack works well for this. Skinny pigs tend to be smaller and have a faster metabolism than a regular guinea pig.
They also tend to eat more and do best on a slightly higher quality food. They should not be put in direct sun since they can burn (caution: do not use sunblock as it can be toxic, please do not use it). Skinnies have a relaxed temperament and are more interactive than a standard guinea pig. Owners report that their skinny pigs are much more outgoing and cuddly than their furry counterparts. Skinnies do well with children and adults since they have a gentle nature and are very sociable animals who enjoy lots of attention. Although many owner seem to enjoy is dressing their hairless animals, this is not necessary.
